Here it is, the humble Granny square, back again for another showing. I think I've done this colourway before too, but the Granny is a joy to make. Bring on more Grannies!

FPC Friday - Is it Spring yet?

This is "Spring Peeps Through" from Book 2 of Floral Punch Craft by Leone Em. I was avoiding doing this one, but once I got started, I really enjoyed the process.

What I love about this is that you could make just about any colour combination you like, and the flowers represent a new beginning, so it would be good for a baby card, a new home card, new job card, etc etc. Very versatile and very effective.

This card started out blue and I just roughly chalked in the grass background. A friend of mine, Wendy, lent me the sentiment stamp and I just love it.

Ooh, this is weird. I'm blogging from a different laptop. My laptop finally met its maker and I am now using the one that used to drive the TV.

Anyhoo...

I have lost track of how many times I have seen this one. Is this the third or fourth time I've made it?

In other crochet news, I have started on a new pair of socks. I will post them when they are finished. I'm using the same pattern I used on my first pair of socks. Did I ever blog the socks? I can't remember now. Hmm...

FPC Friday - Christmas Cards

These lovely Christmas cards are based on Poinsettias taught by Jane Gill at the Cardinal Colours Retreat in Eastbourne in September last year. The card design is mine, the flowers were from her class.

I'm not sure which FPC book these are from, but it must be one I don't have, or they could be Jane's own, I'm not sure. They are lovely and when made assembly-line style, they took no time at all. I made all the leaves, petals, and middles, gave them all their character, put them into little boxes and then assembled them later. I still have quite a few holly leaves still done. They'll keep til next year, I'm sure. I just have to remember who did and didn't get them last year so no one gets a repeat!

This is an openwork square that comes together so fast and uses hardly any yarn. As with most of these, it was a joy to make. That's it for my current shipment. I will have an itchy crochet hand until the next one comes!!

FPC Friday - Foil Poinsettia

This is a bit Christmassy for February, but I had to give it a delay just in case I gave a reader one of these in December. This is the Poinsettia featured in book 2, but it is made of kitchen foil, coloured with alcohol inks. I had to assemble them with Super Glue. It was a sticky job that I'm not likely to repeat, but it was still fun. :)
